Loving: A Novel By Corin Hughs

A Little About Me…

I married my high school sweetheart 10 years ago. Together, we’ve gone from studying American history to selecting college majors, a wedding date and choosing baby names. After tucking our kids into bed, we enjoy quiet evenings on the couch, laptops in our laps, watching Travel Channel and Food Network. We mostly live vicariously through our TV, but occasionally we get to sneak away for a couple days…and we sample fresh Southern concoctions at places reviewed on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! He loves football, I love baking chocolate chip cookies…fall Sundays at our house are rowdy and tasty!

By day, I nurture skinned knees, read toddler-friendly superhero books, play restaurant, Barbies and draw scary (unintentionally) versions of Disney princesses. I build unstable forts with sheets and blankets, whip up homemade play dough and run through my backyard in breathless laughter as my kids and I craft creative obstacle courses. I hold a baby on my hip while cooking dinner, talking on the phone, removing a tangled ponytail and finding a missing sock – all at the same time!

Life is busy! Blessedly busy.

And then the sun begins to descend…

As pillows hug little heads, and my home grows quiet, I nestle into my “spot” on the couch. With my laptop in place and coffee on the end table, I get lost in another world. I write. My imagination runs wild! My spirit dances! Each tap on my keyboard is laced in prayer – prayer for the words I type, the stories they create and the people who read them.

I believe God has brought us together intentionally and for good purpose. I am thankful for you. I hope you will find encouragement through my writing and that it may challenge and deepen your faith.

I LOVE coming to moms and women’s events to encourage, learn with and teach women God’s Word. God’s truths and promises are relevant and, for me, desperately needed in our hectic, often misguided, world. It is a privilege for me to serve God and women in this capacity.
